Cannabidiol is derived from the marijuana plant, but is not psychoactive and won’t make people feel “high”. It is extracted from the seeds and stalks of all-natural hemp plants as well. Reports have shown that cannabidiol is beneficial in increasing our overall health and well-being, and it has also showed great results in treating certain conditions like epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, anxiety and others. If you suffer from any of these, or are simply looking to increase your overall well-being, natural hemp oil could be a great option for you to take.
So how do you consume it? Let’s look at some different ways.
Pure Oil
This is probably the most common and cost effective way to intake cannabidiol. You will administer the oil using an oral syringe for ingestion. The amount of your dosage will depend on your “sweet spot” – everyone is different with how their body responds to hemp oil, so you must experiment.
We recommend you begin with a very small dose, maybe the size of a piece of rice, and move up from there if needed. Simply drop it straight into your mouth, on your finger, or on a spoon and let it sit under your tongue for at least 30 seconds. This will allow your body to easily absorb the cannabidiol.
Cannabidiol Capsules
This is a quick, efficient way of administering hemp oil into your system. The capsules are either powdery or gel-like, and the amount of cannabidiol will be apparent on the package label. The great thing about capsules is that they are quick, and you know exactly how much you are putting into your system each time.
The only downside is the amount of time it takes to digest the capsules and for the benefits to be felt. It’s slower than taking pure oil, but you will get the same effects.
Edibles
From gum to chocolate to water, there are many different edible options for you to receive the healing power inside each drop of hemp oil. The big thing to keep in mind with edibles is how expensive they are. They are not as cost effective as the other options, so if you are planning to take cannabidiol daily or frequently, we would not suggest this option. But, cannabidiol edibles are a great way to try the effects and see if it is a medicine you would like to add to your daily routine.
Topicals
The effects of CBD when used as a topical solution can be significant! The oil is incredibly beneficial for things like bug bites and sun-burns, and really any type of skin inflammation. This type of option is not solely packed with pure hemp oil; instead, it contains an array of other oils and herbs that will aid in the absorption and healing process.
Tinctures
Tinctures are typically mixed with a carrier oil like MCT or coconut oil to hold the cannabidiol. You can receive a variety of different cannabidiol concentration amounts with this type of option. The hemp oil can be administered with a spray or a dropper right under the tongue. A great feature of using tinctures is the mixture of tastes you can buy!
